Thank you for the *excellent* guide. When I played the game I noticed that I had two experiences that disagree with your guide:

(12) Celestial Wing - Enable Flying
- Only if you defeat the three stooges with YOUR OWN hand.
- Defeat the orange-short-hair stooge in stage "The Doombringer" by yourself.

Here I did not need to defeat all three stooges. I only needed to defeat the stooge with the orange-hair. In Doombringer, each boss gives an item if you (not Ascard) kills them. Felder and Duran give Diving Jewels and the other two centurions give Divine Ingots.

- After you triggered either 'A Reason To Fight - Ellion' or
'A Reason To Fight - Millia', let his/her GEAR HP go below 50% WITHOUT

In "A Reason to Fight", I actually killed Milia with Tiana and still got her. While I didn't get the Knight's Ring, everything else you mentioned happened.

Anyone know?

btw @okigen it is possible to kill ascardogo with mass attacks tho it is really hard (even if you exploit the energy glitch) given his huge elemental shield.

But I have one gripe about the game. The hit and evade % are unfair, in my opinion.

I played through 4 full games, and noted the % of hits on 95% accuracy, and the % of dodges on 5% evade.

Hitting @ "95%" had a hitrate of approximately 85%, while dodging at 5% (The attacker has 95% accuracy) was hit approximately 11% of the time.

Either I'm just extremely unlucky, or there is something wrong here....

The ending wasn't worth the effort IMHO.

I've lost my physical copy of BotY. And on the topic of losing things, I lost my iTouch over a year ago, so any hope of experiencing this newer incarnation is lost until I reach Halifax, where I have had my girlfriend already download it on her iPhone.

I guess the question is, is there any way to get a sanctioned download or buy a fresh copy of Battle of the Youstrass?

And, IMHO, a PC port of Eustrath should be made. I gave up programming long ago, but I know enough to know it's easily possible, disregarding marketing and all that.

When it came to the levels 30's I ran around till I had full power then I attacked the earth guy. Killed him quickly. I kept running around till I could get close to the fire guy without the others being around. Killed him in 1 attack round and a counter attack round. I then did the same tactic for the water guy. That level gave me repair then I ran around repairing till I was full HP. Then I ran around till I had over 100 will then I attack and killed the aero guy.

I see a few posts about the choices to upgrade Tia and go back to level 1. I have only read that you want to kill the level 15's and then avoid the level 30's till you have full health then AoE kill them.

The only good thing about this is that we would all have this in common. We all have to go back to level 1 and attempt it.

Has anyone been able to complete this and what was the best way for you?

What Item did you equip on Tia when you did this?

Did you have her stats maxed before doing this? (I would think it might make it easier and that might be my problem)

I really want to do this but I have done this battle 4 or so times already and I can usually get to the point the 30's are chasing me but I can not kill them and evading them doesnt always work as planned even with elude and evade and the enemy only having a 20% chance to hit. When it hits it still does like 1300 and it hurts!

Information that would be really helpful would be
-movement type (walking, hovering, flying)
-skills gotten and when (in a general sense)
-attack type (ranged? melee? usable after moving?)
-attack damage
-how useful they are

An example description for Rhimstol (if it were on the list) might be:

Rhimstol is a fast flier who excels in dodging. She gets Elude early on and has Elude3 around the time Kradion gets Altered gears. She gets the traditional pulser attack and a melee attack, neither of which are very powerful. However, at 105 will, she gets Tornado Vortex which is quite powerful. Her true strength lies in the rapid increase of will, easily getting up to 150 if you use her on the front lines and on terrain she can dodge in (mountain, forest, wood). Her maximum attack range (after moving) is 3, but this is little concern because she can fly and has high movement. She is very fragile early game before getting more levels in elude, and will likely die in one or two shots against bosses even with 150+ will. Late in the game, her damage output is relatively low considering she doesn't get very many levels in str and full force. Still, she can handle the generic GEARs and is useful as a secondary healer who can actually keep up with the crew and handle herself in combat unlike Yudenthile. One sentence summary: fast, elusive frontline scout who takes on a healer role later on in the game.

What does the power stat do? my best guess is that it does the same thing as 'will' (boost all of your abilities) but doesn't actually count towards will.

On the little terrain window, what does C and D mean? I'm pretty sure D is for defense but I can't figure out what C is for. Also, if the bonuses are C+0, D+5, does that mean the unit takes 5% less damage? or something else?

Third, how much bonus do the terrain elemental bonuses mean? I've seen slight up/down, medium up/down, and massive up/down. Is it again something like +10/20/30% to all abilities (similar to what full force does) Does this 'bonus' only affect attacks, or does it affect defense on that terrain as well?

Finally, are the weapon elemental bonuses the same thing as above?

There didn't seem to be much explanation in game about these mechanics. If someone could write a guide about everything combat, that would be really useful. Thanks in advance!

when you recuit Ascard.....

- You can't control him although you recruit him, he was uncontrollable.
- He'll not move until the enemy come near him.
- and Yes, He'll not attack too , he'll attack If the enemy attack him first and he counter.

So bad....when I recruit him, I'm so excited to control THE STONGEST GEARS.

but now It dosen't :((

(however, You can finish a game without him, believe in yourself :) )

There are 2 tricky parts here:
1. Tiana and Luke can gain exp from hitting allies by Mass Attack. With evelin and sarah's heals, these four cheaters can gain exp much faster than killing enemies. My Tys kills almost all the enemies (and with amptitude!) after meeting the Goddess and she is still 10+ levels lower than those 4 guys. After the stage "A Wail of the Dragon", my Tys is level 84 and those four reach level 99.

2. In the stage "The Thunderbird", Luke is unbeatable, which means his health can never go below 10. Since he is already lvl 99, every hit to him will gives bunch of exp and this will only ends when he fights Tiana. So at the start of the stage, everyone is moved away from Luke except Tys. Then it's a 1v1 duel between them:). With my lvl 84 Tys, you can do this with only few save/loads. (outburst Luke only have 50% chance to hit Tys when her will is only 90,with Full Force and Counter though. Later when Tys' Will rise up and Luke's will drop to 150, Tys can fully guard all Luke's attack except Dragon Strike).

Then lvl99 Tys! :D

She will get all the combat abilities at lvl 94, and MAX all the skills at lvl98. (lvl 5 Aptitude at lvl98 lol) She one-shot every boss except Ascard (not sure about Deux Ex Machina, but at least should be easy since she one-shot Celtakroth before his Mass Attack :D) However, she is not the best for Ascard fight because of the low dmg of her final weapon and no bonus from field. She can do 7k dmg to Ascard while lvl99 Luke can get over 10k, though Ascard cannot hurt Tys at all:)
